DOCUMENTED MECHANIC
Open the original game using the play button. The game’s guide says a guest can start immediately, but guest progress is not saved. Use a game account if you want cloud saves and to continue on another device.
EDITORIAL SUGGESTION
Choose your save option before investing in a longer run. This guide site has no game accounts and cannot store your progress.
Choose an opener you understand
DOCUMENTED MECHANIC
The project uses a personality quiz to suggest a starter, with an option to choose another. Confirmed examples include Bulbasaur with Vine Whip, Charmander with Ember and Squirtle with Water Gun.
EDITORIAL SUGGESTION
A projectile opener such as Ember or Water Gun is a useful way to learn spacing. Try Vine Whip if you would rather practise a close-range arc. These are playstyle suggestions, not a strength ranking.
Move first. Attack automatically.
DOCUMENTED MECHANIC
Your active move fires on its own. Use movement to create space and switch moves when you need a different attack. Learning a move does not make every slot fire at once; bonds are a separate mechanic.

Make a plan at each level-up
DOCUMENTED MECHANIC
Gather experience to gain levels. The game offers three cards drawn from new moves, upgrades to learned moves and stat boosts. You normally have four move slots; bonds can link moves into a slot.
EDITORIAL SUGGESTION
Rather than spreading every pick across new attacks, choose one damaging move to develop. Keep its evolution requirement in mind, while taking survival help when you need it.
Build toward one evolution
DOCUMENTED MECHANIC
An eligible move must reach level 5. Take its required stat-upgrade card at least once in the same run, then select its golden evolution card on a later level-up. The stat card can be taken before the move reaches level 5.
EDITORIAL SUGGESTION
Ember + Power leads to Fire Blast; Water Gun + Power leads to Scald. Check the lookup before spending picks. A permanent partner upgrade is not the same as the in-run stat card.
Protect your escape route
DOCUMENTED MECHANIC
The original guide recommends staying mobile, stepping away from marked ground attacks and dealing with enemies that heal or shield others. Type matchups and weather also affect the fight.
EDITORIAL SUGGESTION
Keep an open route beside you. Collect nearby experience when it is safe, and avoid turning a small pickup into a trip through a packed horde. When surrounded, change direction early rather than waiting for the last gap.
After the basics feel familiar
DOCUMENTED MECHANIC
Coins fund permanent upgrades for individual partners. The project’s October 11 release notes describe bonds: defeating a legendary in a rift lets you link moves to fire together, up to four in one bond.
EDITORIAL SUGGESTION
Stay with one partner for a few runs so your decisions are easier to compare. Change one thing at a time: your opener, upgrade plan or positioning. We have not benchmarked these suggestions in live runs.
